Matcha grades explained
At Matcha2You we focus on two matcha grades: ceremonial and culinary. The difference lies in how the leaves are grown, harvested, and processed — and what the final product is intended for.

AAA - AAAA
Ceremonial Matcha
Best for: Traditional tea, lattes, wellness drinks
Ceremonial matcha is made from the youngest, most delicate leaves, shade-grown to enhance chlorophyll and amino acid content. It has a vibrant green color, smooth texture, and a naturally sweet, umami-rich flavor — with no bitterness.
We believe that any matcha you drink — whether straight or in a latte — should be ceremonial grade. That’s how you get the full spectrum of flavor, antioxidants, and calming energy that matcha is known for. If you’re serving matcha to your customers, this is the quality they deserve.

A - AA
Culinary Matcha
Best for: Baking, cooking, blended recipes
Culinary matcha is made from more mature leaves, resulting in a stronger, more astringent flavor and a less vibrant color. While it’s not ideal for drinking, it’s excellent for recipes where matcha is one component among many — such as pastries, desserts, sauces, or cosmetics.
It’s a cost-effective, functional option for businesses using matcha as an ingredient — not a standalone drink.
Why it matters?
Matcha is not just a powder — it’s a whole-leaf product with powerful natural benefits. That’s why we never compromise on what we call ceremonial: it's not just for tradition, it's for taste, health, and integrity.
